Book Readers Live Longer

old man reading

In a recent post Read Voraciously presented a link to a Yale study that showed that people who read books live longer than those who don’t, even after social and educational factors are taken into account.

You can find her post here.

The study offers no definitive explanation of its findings.

I think I’ve got it cracked: readers hang on longer because they don’t want to be beaten by their TBR pile.

  1. Read The Journals of Bob Drifter, live longer, enjoy life.

I think there’s something to it. I wonder if it’s connected to the same sort of magic that happens when you pet an animal or fall in love. I’ll read the study, but it’s cool. I think you’re right though. There’s no way I can die before I finish the Stormlight Archive.
